Nursing Education and Professional Development presents Aprilfest 2012

Aprilfest 2012 is a four-day educational event for VUMC licensed and nonlicensed care providers, such as nurses and care partners.

Aprilfest will run from Monday, April 9, to Thursday, April 12. All the sessions are free to attend, but registration is required.

Among the topics:

  • "Unexpected Outcomes and Errors: When Bad Things Happen to Good People," presented by Gerald Hickson, M.D., assistant vice chancellor for Health Affairs.
  • "Shock in the Pediatric Patient," presented by Mary Fran Hazinski, MSN, R.N.
  • "Prevention of Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections at VUMC: A Lesson in Quality Improvement," presented by Tom Talbot, M.D., associate professor of Medicine.

The event is sponsored by VUMC's Department of Nursing Education and Professional Development.
