Community Research Partners meeting to focus on "Race, Place and Health," Friday, June 1
"Race, Place and Health: The Nashville Racial Healing Project," will be presented by Monica Murphy, MPH, of the Metro Nashville Public Health Department at the monthly meeting of Community Research Partners.
The meeting will be Friday, June 1, 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Hadley Park Community Center, 1037 28th Ave. N.
The Nashville Racial Healing Project explores the history of racial inequity in North Nashville, and how it impacts the health and overall success of the community.
The Metro Public Health Department has been working with community and national partners to get a deeper understanding of the history of North Nashville through historical community research and policy research, interviewing community members and using GPS mapping to illustrate how the health, environmental and opportunity landscapes of the community have changed from 1950 to 2010.
