World premiere of "Laura's Story" to be tomorrow at 4 p.m. in Light Hall"Laura's Story," an edition of the Foundation for Biomedical Research's television series "Bench2Bedside," will have its world premiere Wednesday, June 20, at 4 p.m. in 208 Light Hall.
The documentary follows the life of a young Nashville woman, Laura Gee, who discovered she has Type 1 diabetes at age 7, and has battled health problems her entire life.
“Laura’s Story” gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at Vanderbilt’s groundbreaking diabetes research that could one day lead to a cure for diabetes. The documentary features Kevin Niswender, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor of Medicine; Shubhada Jagasia, M.D., associate professor of Medicine; and Jeanne Wallace, D.V.M., assistant vice chancellor for Research.
