Child and Family Center Manager named president of Tennessee Association for the Education of Young Children
Rhonda Laird, manager of the Vanderbilt Child and Family Center’s Edgehill site, was recently elected as president of the Tennessee Association for the Education of Young Children (TAEYC).
TAEYC has more than 2,000 members across the state including teachers, administrators, family care providers, college personnel and educational specialists. There are 12 local affiliates.
TAEYC provides members with professional development opportunities and advocates for best practice in the care, development, and education of all Tennessee’s young children.
Laird had previously served as president of the Nashville area affiliate of TAEYC and as public policy co-chair. In 2010, she received the TAEYC Outstanding Member Award for her advocacy work and her involvement with professional development opportunities for teachers and directors in early childhood education programs.
