Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network serving more of Middle TennesseeVanderbilt University Medical Center and its affiliate medical centers — Maury Regional Medical Center, NorthCrest Medical Center and Williamson Medical Center — have created a new health plan of clinicians and hospitals which will allow employees at all four medical centers the opportunity to receive health care at any of the four institutions. This health plan will be called the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network.
This notice is an exciting benefits enhancement for Vanderbilt’s employees and is intended to describe how the new health plan is part of an effort to increase access to health care services across the region for employees of all four institutions.
Since employees of all four institutions live and work across Middle Tennessee, this new health plan is significant because it allows the added convenience of being able to receive quality health care services closer to home.
Vanderbilt University's benefit plan includes health insurance options managed by both Aetna Inc. and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee (BCBST). The Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network allows all Vanderbilt employees covered by the Aetna plans to benefit from discounted prices for services received through the new health plan.
The relationship between VUMC and Aetna will mean Vanderbilt’s plan participants can enjoy enhancements available through a network of providers that will continue to grow.
At the same time, benefit levels for the use of Vanderbilt Medical Group’s clinicians and facilities, as well as those available through our current affiliates, will continue without changes through Vanderbilt's BCBST plan for 2013.
More information will be provided on next year’s health insurance plan options during the upcoming Open Benefits Enrollment period, Oct. 17-31.
Again this year, Vanderbilt’s benefits enrollment is an active process, which means all benefits-eligible employees need to review their options and make choices for 2013 during this year's open enrollment period.
More information will be coming through the Vanderbilt Benefits and Health Fair on Oct. 10 (7:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Student Life Center) and Oct. 11 (2-8 p.m. at One Hundred Oaks), in myVU, MyVUMC, and the Benefits tab on the Human Resources website: http://hr.vanderbilt.edu/oe/.
