Tarpley to deliver H. William Scott Lecture in Surgical History, today at 5 p.m. in 202 Light Hall

John Tarpley, M.D., professor of Surgery, will deliver the H. William Scott Jr. Society Lecture in Surgical History, the first of what is expected to be an annual event, on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 5 p.m. in 202 Light Hall.

His topic will be, "...Nor yet the last to lay the old aside: Listerism and William T. Briggs of Vanderbilt: Any Lessons for the 21st Century?"

The lecture is open to all faculty, staff and students and is supported by the H. William Scott Jr. Society and the Vanderbilt Medical Alumni Association.

A reception will follow at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Shuttles will be provided
