Study on reading ability needs children 10 to 14 years old

A study of reading abilities in children age 10 to 14 needs participants, both with and without reading disabilities. The reading comprehension research study is called “Cognitive and Neural Processes in Reading Comprehension," and is sponsored by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and the National Institutes of Health.

The study calls for participants to come for two or three visits for a total of 11 hours, during which they will be asked to do pen and pencil tests, computerized tests and have a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) study done of the brain.

Researchers will provide IQ and school reading testing for all eligible participants, a written summary of each child's performance, and up to $150 in compensation.
