Vanderbilt Heart urging employees to "go red" tomorrow; Heart Month events announced
February is American Heart Month, and Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute is kicking it off by encouraging all VUMC employees to wear red on Friday, Feb. 1, in observance of Go Red for Women, an initiative of the American Heart Association to raise awareness of women’s heart health.
For the past 10 years the AHA has celebrated Go Red for Women on the first Friday in February, encouraging millions of women and men to wear red, take action and commit to fighting cardiovascular disease. Members of the Vanderbilt Heart marketing team will be canvassing the campus on Feb. 1 taking photos of employees wearing red and posting them to its Facebook page.
Vanderbilt Heart and HealthPlus are teaming up to organize a number of events to be held in February for employees, among them:
Heart Month Lunch & Learn, noon – 1 p.m., 208 Light Hall (lunch served on first come, first served basis, no RSVP required)
Town Hall for VHVI employees, noon in 202 Light Hall (no RSVP required)
Love Your Heart Screening, 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Light Hall lobby (no RSVP required)
