Nashville Sinfonietta plays to benefit Shade Tree Clinic tonight

Nashville Sinfonietta, with cello soloist Felix Wang and conductor Dean Whiteside, will be performing at 8 p.m. tonight at Blair’s Ingram Hall in a benefit for VUMC's Shade Tree Clinic.

The performance brings together performers from the Nashville Symphony and the Blair School of Music. The program includes Robert Schumann’s Cello Concert in A minor, Op. 129, featuring Wang, and Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony.

This is the third year that the Nashville Sinfonietta performance will benefit the Shade Tree Clinic, a free clinic run by Vanderbilt medical students and volunteer faculty in East Nashville. The clinic provides care in one of Nashville’s neediest neighborhoods free of charge, and is an excellent example of how Vanderbilt University extends its mission into the community.

The concert is free to the public and donations to Shade Tree will be accepted during the event.
