Luncheon honors women who mentor, raises funds for maternal and infant health program

Megan Barry, Metropolitan Council member at-large, will be the mistress of ceremonies for the annual Celebration of Women Mentoring Women, to be held Friday, March 15, at 11:30 a.m. at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel.

The event is to raise funds for the Maternal Infant Health Outreach Worker (MIHOW) Program of Vanderbilt’s Center for Community Health Solutions (CHS). Tickets are $60.

Honorees at the luncheon are:

Ina May Gaskin
Founder and director of the Farm Midwifery Center and author of Spiritual Midwifery.

Jennifer Kimball
Executive director of Girls on the Run (GOTR), a running group that works to foster self respect and healthy living in girls from grades three through eight.

Julie Russell
Yoga teacher and artist who has taught yoga, t'ai chi, Breema, and "The Painting Journal" classes.
