Call for Abstracts: Annual Postdoctoral Research and Shared Resources Symposium
The Seventh Annual Postdoctoral Research and Shared Resources Symposium will be held on Tuesday, April 30, in Light Hall.
This announcement serves as a call for abstracts from postdoctoral fellows to present their research projects in poster format (submission of abstracts is online through the link below).
For the fifth consecutive year, this event will be held in conjunction with Vanderbilt’s Shared Resources and will feature selected presentations from both postdocs and core facilities.
Prizes will be awarded to postdocs in several scientific categories for best poster presentation. VUMC Shared Resources will award additional prizes for best use of Shared Resources and core facilities. New this year, we will be awarding two Distinguished Postdoctoral Oral Presentation Awards.
We will begin this year’s event with the keynote address “Bridging basic and applied biomedical research in translational drug development,” presented by Janet Wolfe, president and CEO of Wolfe Laboratories. Wolfe was selected as the keynote speaker by VUMC postdocs.
The keynote address will be followed by the poster session. After the poster session, we will showcase short talks by the CORE faculty as well as by postdocs. The event will conclude with prizes awarded for best poster presentations, as well as the announcement of the Postdoc of the Year and Mentor of the Year awards.
The deadline for abstract submission is Monday, March 18.
