A message from Chancellor Zeppos about the Spring Faculty Assembly, April 3
As March makes it predictable lion to lamb transition, Vanderbilt continues to move forward with unabated energy and strong leadership from all corners. For our upcoming Spring Faculty Assembly, Wednesday, April 3, we will have much to discuss and many great recognitions to observe. I invite you to join me and your faculty colleagues as we gather in Ingram Hall, in the Blair School of Music, at 4:10 p.m.
Bill Schaffner, M.D., chair of the Department of Preventative Medicine, will open the program with an enlightening and educational presentation. Bill is widely known as the voice of all things health-related and serves an important role in keeping the general public up to date and informed. Faculty Senate Chair Sal March will then welcome us and provide opening remarks.
I then have the distinct honor of presenting three of the University’s highest awards: the Harvie Branscomb Distinguished Professor Award, the Alexander Heard Distinguished Professor Award, and the Joe B. Wyatt Distinguished University Professor Award. Rounding out this list of awards will be the Madison Sarratt Prize for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching and the Ellen Gregg Ingalls Award for Excellence in Classroom Teaching.
Afterwards, we will gather in the Ingram Hall Lobby for refreshments and to celebrate our work and bright future. I look forward to seeing you there and sharing this special time together.
Nicholas S. Zeppos
