31st annual Research Forum is Thursday
The 31st annual Research Forum will be held on April 18. The event will begin with poster presentations in the North Lobby of Light Hall from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and conclude with oral presentations in 208 Light Hall from noon-2:30 p.m.
The forum is open to all VUMC personnel. The Research Forum provides an opportunity to showcase research conducted at Vanderbilt by VUMC house staff and medical students. Published and unpublished work is eligible and encouraged. All submitted abstracts are published in the VUMC Research Forum book.
Abstracts are reviewed and selected for either an oral or a poster presentation by a panel of School of Medicine faculty members who are actively involved in clinical and basic science research.
The top three Basic Science Research and Clinical Research abstracts are selected for oral presentation. After the oral presentations at the forum, the best overall project in each category (Basic Science Research and Clinical Research) will be awarded the Elliot V. Newman Award. The Grant W. Liddle Award, which honors a faculty member who demonstrates exemplary leadership in the promotion of scientific research, is presented annually at the forum.
