Seminar on "Surviving Active Shooter Situations" to be Tuesday, June 25
The Tennessee Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program, the Tennessee Department of Health and the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, are hosting a seminar on “Surviving Active Shooter Situations.”
The free seminar will be held on June 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel located at 2025 Rosa L. Parks Blvd. Lunch will be provided.
In the aftermath of the tragic massacre at Columbine High School in 1999, law enforcement has made Rapid Response to Active Shooters training part of both basic and advanced training nationwide.
The participants will be given clear and easy-to-remember actions to take, making them a harder target and increasing their chances of survival.
