Presentation, on "From Isolation to Community" to be Friday, Aug. 2
"From Isolation to Community: What a Social Capital Intervention Suggests About Creating Solidarity in the Neighborhood and Beyond," will be presented Friday, Aug. 2 at 8:30 a..m. at the Martha O'Bryan Center.
Attendees will hear exploratory findings about a neighborhood intervention focused on meeting one’s neighbors and discussing local needs and civic action. The presentation will focus on the impact of "NeighborCircles" on social capital. Implications for future research and experimentation with similar interventions, including use of the "NeighborCircles" model in Nashville neighborhoods will be discussed. Representatives from the Martha O’Bryan Center and the Neighborhoods Resource Center will share reactions on the potential for "NeighborCircles" in Nashville.
