Department of Surgery's Research Collaborative returns at new location, Tuesday, Sept. 10
The Department of Surgery’s Research Collaborative begins this fall at a new location, 7455 MRB IV, with J Mocco, M.D., leading a discussion on “Brain Recovery Following Stroke: Stem Cells to Caffeine” on
Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 5-6 p.m.
Mocco joined the Vanderbilt faculty in 2012. He holds joint appointments as associate professor in Neurological Surgery and Radiology and Radiological Sciences. He also serves alongside Oran S. Aaronson, M.D. as the Associate Program Director of the Neurosurgery Residency Program. Mocco's research focuses on cerebro- and endovascular neurosurgery.
The Department of Surgery Research Collaborative was developed to provide synergy between the basic sciences and clinical research as a means of enhancing research opportunities within the Section of Surgical Sciences.
