Temple's Klein to deliver Discovery Lecture Oct. 24

Michael Klein, Ph.D., dean of the College of Science and Technology at Temple University, will deliver the next Flexner Discovery Lecture at 4 p.m. Oct. 24 in 208 Light Hall.

The British native, who also is Laura H. Carnell Professor of Science and a member of the National Academy of Sciences, is internationally known for his use of computer simulation to probe the behavior of complex molecular structures in the cell.

Klein’s lecture, sponsored by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and by the British Consulate General in Atlanta, is entitled “Exploring nature’s design of voltage gated ion channels via computation.”

His research has implications for improving understanding of disease and ways to treat it.
