Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra hosts Concerto and Composition Competition

The Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra is currently taking applications for our 2014 Concerto and Composition Competitions. Both competitions welcome Middle Tennessee musicians of all ages to apply.

The Concerto competition, now in its fifth year, has two categories, Young Adult and Adult, and the winners of each perform their piece on the NPO's season finale concerts. The composition competition began last season and the winner's piece will also be performed on the last concert series. Winners of all categories also receive cash prizes.

All information on the competitions including rules and application forms can be found at www.nashvillephilharmonic.org. Applications for this year are due Jan. 31, 2014.

The Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra is an all-volunteer community orchestra featuring amateur and professional players from throughout Middle Tennessee.  Its mission is to offer area orchestral musicians with opportunities to perform while providing high-quality symphonic music free of charge to a wide variety of audiences.
