Postal rate increase next week; still time to buy forever stamps

The U.S. Postal Service has scheduled a postage rate increase to be effective next week. Station 17 will implement this change at opening of business on Monday, Jan. 27.

The basic first-class letter rate will go from 46 cents to 49 cents, and certain other services will also increase. Forever stamps, as usual, will be accepted at the higher rate after the change goes into effect.

The VUMC Station 17 window service will close early, at 3 p.m. instead of 4 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 23, to prepare for the changeover.
