Latino Medical Students Association accepting donations for charity supporting new mothers

The Latino Medical Students Association at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine is joining with the Global Health Organization to hold a drive to collect donations for 154 high school students who are teen mothers or mothers-to-be in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The Vanderbilt organizations are working with la Asociacion de Mujeres de Arkansas to collect shoes, clothing, non-perishable food, toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothbrushes and toothpaste), and books in Spanish appropriate for a Spanish library at a high school.

Donated items can be dropped off in a box on the third floor of Light Hall, across from room 307, outside the glass-windowed study room. Deadline for donations is Friday, May 29, at 5 p.m.

For larger or monetary donations, please contact Mary Masterman at 405-589-9287.
