VUMC Maintenance of Certification Portfolio Program offers assistance

Vanderbilt University Medical Center has been certified as a Maintenance of Certification Portfolio Program Sponsor by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). This allows the VUMC MOC Office to approve internal quality improvement projects for MOC Part IV credit. This program is available to VUMC physicians who are board certified by one or more boards that participate in the program. Participating Boards include:

 

  • American Board of Allergy and Immunology
  • American Board of Anesthesiology
  • American Board of Dermatology
  • American Board of Emergency Medicine
  • American Board of Family Medicine
  • American Board of Internal Medicine
  • American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics
  • American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • American Board of Ophthalmology
  • American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery
  • American Board of Pathology
  • American Board of Pediatrics
  • American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
  • American Board of Plastic Surgery American Board of Preventative Medicine
  • American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology
  • American Board of Radiology American Board of Surgery
  • American Board of Thoracic Surgery

While physicians may obtain MOC Part IV credit in other ways, the VUMC Portfolio Program allows physicians to earn MOC Part IV credit for internal QI projects they are already participating in. There is no cost to physicians to participate in this program.
