New medical staff orientation relocates to Langford Auditorium

New medical staff orientation sessions will now be held in Langford Auditorium, located next to Light Hall. The first orientation in Langford Auditorium will take place on Monday, Feb. 15.

“The new medical staff orientation location will give supervisors a better opportunity to welcome new employees and continue the onboarding process throughout the day,” said Cory Colton, executive director of learning operations.

According to Colton, it will now be more convenient for supervisors to meet their new employees on orientation day, for lunch or to bring them back to the department to begin compliance training, team introductions or work space tours.

Orientation events are held most Mondays from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m., with time after to ask questions about VUPD, VUIT, Health & Wellness and benefits programs and visit Medical Center card services to receive ID badges.

Orientation attendees will now receive ID badges at Medical Center card services' new location, Medical Center North D-2107. Visit Medical Center card services online for more information.

Orientation parking will remain the same; attendees should park in the 25th Avenue Garage via 25th Avenue and park on the roof only (Level 11).

Beginning Feb. 10, the clinical orientation program attended by Medical Center staff working directly with patients in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings is held at 3401 West End Ave., Suite 100. Please visit the VUMC website for more information.
