VUMC in the news

A roundup of a few recent positive stories from the press about Vanderbilt  University Medical Center.

The Tennessean published a story about VUMC’s transition to an independent organization, headlined, “VUMC's split ushers in 'bright' era of change, growth.”

An outbreak of mumps on the Harvard University campus brought the opportunity for VUMC’s William Schaffner, M.D., professor of Preventive Medicine, to comment to national news outlets, including ABC News, Forbes magazine and Self magazine.

Schaffner also spoke to VICE News about the danger of the flu in the wake of reports that it could have been a factor in Prince’s death.

A Tennessean story explained the history and pageantry of the Iroquois Steeplechase, which benefits Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, and quoted Luke Gregory, CEO of the hospital.
