VUMC Culture Survey 101: everything you need to know about this year's survey
The 2016 VUMC Culture Survey is less than a week away. This year’s survey kicks off May 16 and you are encouraged to share your voice to help us build a stronger VUMC. The survey will allow you to have a say in how we work together, the way we learn, how we communicate with each other and how to make our experience better.
As you may know, we have a new name for the 2016 survey to reflect the combination of three surveys — the safety culture survey, the staff engagement survey and the nursing Magnet survey — that support our efforts to continuously evaluate and improve our performance.
We’ve also switched to a new vendor for all staff surveys. Health care research firm Press Ganey, our patient survey partner, will also handle the VUMC Culture Survey.
So what should you be on the lookout for? On Monday, May 16, you will receive an email from VUMC Culture Survey (email@example.com) with the subject line: Your Voice, Your VUMC — Take the VUMC Culture Survey Today. The email will include instructions on how to access the survey by using the unique link provided in the email.
Please do not forward this link to anyone else as it is your unique link to complete the survey.
So how long will the survey take me? Your role at VUMC determines which of the three parts of the survey you will complete. As a result, it can take from 15-to-45 minutes to complete the survey. For an example, nurses will take all three parts of the survey, which can take up to 45 minutes to complete. If you are unable to complete the survey at one time, the system automatically saves responses and allows you to come back later to complete the survey.
Completing the 2016 VUMC Culture Survey will give you an opportunity to have your voice heard, and will make VUMC a better place to work. Each week there will be a random drawing from departments with the highest participation rate! In addition, individuals can print out the thank you message at the end of the survey, write their name on it and send it to Susie Lyons in HR to be entered into a prize drawing! Encourage your colleagues to take the survey and speak up during this year’s survey.
The survey will run from May 16 to May 29, and you will receive several reminder emails if you have not completed the survey yet.
