A roundup of a few recent positive stories from the press about Vanderbilt University Medical Center

David A. Edwards, M.D., assistant professor of Anesthesiology, was interviewed by WKRN about opioid abuse by teens.

 

Martha Upchurch, a dietician with the Eskind Diabetes Clinic  was interviewed for an Everydayhealth.com article on carb counting for people with type 2 diabetes.

 

 William Schaffner, M.D., professor of Preventive Medicine,was interviewed by The New York Times  for a story about possible Zika transmission through oral sex and kissing.

 

A story in the Atlantic about autism featured the work of Blyth Corbett, Ph.D., associate professor of Psychiatry and Vanderbilt Kennedy Center investigator, who leads a theater program for children with autism.

 

Oscar Guillamondegui, M.D., associate professor of Surgery and Trauma Medical Director, was interviewed by WKRN News 2 about an increase in teenage and young adult gunshot victims.
