VUMC in the news

A roundup of a few recent positive stories from the press about Vanderbilt University Medical Center:

VUMC announced a precision medicine grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that, at $71.6 million, is the largest in Vanderbilt’s history. There were stories at many news sources, including The Tennessean, Healthcare IT News, The Chattanoogan and Modern Healthcare. In addition, the news was a trending story on Google News-Health for more than 24 hours, and was covered, including with a sound bite from Jeff Balser’s online video, on WPLN Nashville Public Radio. Also, this Forbes story, “Obama Seeks to Make Mark on Genetic Medicine,” mentions Vanderbilt.

Last week VUMC announced an affiliation agreement with Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga. The story was covered by numerous news outlets, including The Tennessean, Modern Healthcare, Yahoo Finance, WRCB-TV and the Chattanooga Times Free Press.
