Several road closures and/or detours at VUMC Saturday

Three different areas of VUMC will be affected by road closures or detours due to construction activity Saturday, Oct. 22.

From 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, Medical Center Drive will be closed from Pierce Ave. to Children’s Way. The purpose of the lane closure is for the vertical expansion of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. VUPD and flagmen will be on site to direct pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, there will be a crane placed at the south end of the Medical Center North loading dock turnaround. This will not block the entrance to the loading dock. The purpose of this crane is to set an A/C unit on the roof of Medical Center North. Flagmen will be on site to direct pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

From 5 to 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, Medical Center Drive will have one lane blocked from the Medical Center North shuttle drop off area, to the north entrance of the Vanderbilt University Hospital. The reason for this closure is to set a mobile CT scanner trailer. Flagmen will be on site to help direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
