Saturday, April 29 will see two projects that will change traffic patterns around VUMC.

  • From 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Children’s Way will be milled and repaved from Medical Center Drive to 24th Avenue South. The paving had originally been scheduled to take place earlier in April, but was postponed. The street will remain open to two-way traffic for the duration of the construction. No road work associated with this project will take place Monday through Friday. For more information about this project, contact Jason Bucher, director of Parking and Transportation Services, at 615-936-2125.
  • Also, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Pierce Ave will be closed between Medical Center Drive and 23rd Avenue North. The Children’s Hospital ambulance bay area and 23rd Avenue North will not be affected by this closure. The reason for this closure is to do some maintenance on the north tower crane for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital vertical expansion project. For more information about this project, call Terry Ralph at 615-715-1257.

Vanderbilt University Police Department and flagmen will be on site to assist with vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Parking and Transportation staff will be on hand as well.
