Managed Print update: refresh of copier/multifunction fleet begins

Over the past year, the Medical Center has delayed routine replacements of some of our SmartPrinting copiers and multifunction machines. This was a strategic decision so that we would have a group of units out of contract and ready to switch over when our managed print program was ready. We have now reached that point.

Our managed print partner, Auxilio, has designated Canon Solutions America as their hardware supplier for equipment of this type. Canon is one of our SmartPrinting vendors, and in fact has a history with VUMC that goes back into the 1980s. Longtime staffers may recall seeing equipment under their past corporate brands of Pitney Bowes, Imagistics and Océ, and may also remember our sales representative Mark Choate, who has served our account through all these changes.

Starting on June 12, Canon and Auxilio will be cooperating to visit all our areas that have expired copiers and MFDs to assess their exact needs preparatory to installing new equipment. You may see some of the Auxilio staff you have become accustomed to over the past month or so, and some faces will be new. All these folks will have VUMC Affiliate badges and will be able to present an authorization memo on request.

Please make them welcome in your department and feel free to discuss your print/copy/fax needs in the broadest terms, now and for the foreseeable future. The goal of all parties in this process is to craft a printing solution for all of VUMC that is efficient, convenient, secure and cost-effective. Feedback from the users is needed to help our partners work toward this goal.

Further information will be posted on our web page as it becomes available:
