Silent auction to benefit cardiac surgery in Kenya

In February, a team including physicians and nurses from Vanderbilt's Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit will travel with others to work with the staff at Tenwek Hospital in Kenya. This partnership is in it's 10th year and the group is hoping to raise a enough money to help 20 patients receive surgery.

A Silent Auction will be held Nov. 4 from 3-5 p.m. to benefit the work and the organization Hearts of East Africa. The donations from the event will go to offset the cost of open heart surgery for children and young adults in Kenya.

The auction is being held at 806 Red Tanager Court in Nashville and is a child-friendly event. Items up for bidding include tickets to Disney World, Holiday World, Dollywood, Above All, Titans games, Predators games, Vanderbilt men's basketball games, the Nashville Symphony, passes for Pure Barre, Orange Theory, Climb Nashville and Shakti Yoga and original artwork and photography.
