Severe Weather Warning System Siren Upgrade

From the Department of Emergency Preparedness:

Severe Weather Warning System Siren Upgrade

In order to protect the Vanderbilt community, Vanderbilt University contracts with a commercial weather monitoring company to warn us about any severe weather.

This early warning weather alert system is exclusively for the Vanderbilt campus. On Tuesday, March 30, and Wednesday, March 31, VU Plant Operations and VUPD will be upgrading the sirens on this system. Each of the six siren sites on the Vanderbilt campus will be tested after the upgrade, so please be advised that the sirens will sound for 30-60 seconds after each test, for a total of six tests. We hope this siren upgrade will make our campus even more storm-ready and we apologize for any disruption in your day.
