National Start! Walking Day is April 7

On Wednesday, April 7, bring your sneakers to work and join us for National Start! Walking Day. Vanderbilt University employees will join with others across the country to participate in this American Heart Association initiative to get people to move more while at work, and to become active and heart healthy.

Health Plus staff will kick off the eight-week Walking Wednesdays program at noon. Join us for a 20-minute group walk that starts at Medical Center North and ends at Alumni Lawn.

• We will finish the walk at 12:20 p.m. at Alumni Lawn, where you can pick up your Start! Challenge 1 prize and stay for a brief celebration of the Start! program's success and Vanderbilt’s commitment to a culture of wellness, led by Vice Chancellor for Administration Jerry Fife.

Can’t join the group walk? Take 30 minutes out of your day to get up and walk by yourself or with a co-worker.
