Does Someone in Your Family Have Type 1 Diabetes? Get Screened and Help Prevent Type 1 Diabetes

The Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet Research Program at Vanderbilt is screening relatives of people with type 1 diabetes to find their risk for developing diabetes.

To participate in this research, you must be:

• Age 45 or younger and have a brother, sister, child or parent with diabetes (diagnosed before age 40 and started on insulin within the first year)

Or

• Age 20 or younger and have a cousin, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, half-sibling or grandparent with diabetes (diagnosed before age 40 and started on insulin with the first year)

Call or e-mail today to schedule antibody testing at no charge for you and your family. Lab kits are available for remote screening of relatives living outside of the Nashville area.

All inquiries will be kept private. No medical insurance bills will be created.
