Joers Accepts Position in Milwaukee
Barbara Joers, chief operating officer for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, has been named the administrative vice president for the Children’s Hospital and Health System in Milwaukee, Wis. Her last day at Vanderbilt will be June 4.
“Barbara has served Children’s Hospital and Vanderbilt University Medical Center for more than 10 years in a number of roles," said Kevin B. Churchwell, M.D., chief executive officer and executive director, Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. "She initially led our planning around the move from our children’s hospital-within-a hospital to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. She has transformed how we operate, led our quality and safety efforts and has been an integral part of how we deliver quality and family-centered care to our patients and families.”
Churchwell has named Jim Hollender, director of Children's Service Expansion Initiatives, as interim chief operation officer for Children's Hospital.
Hollender has been with Vanderbilt since 2001, where he has served in a variety of positions including department administrator for the Department of Pediatrics, associate director for Pediatrics, and privacy official for VUMC.
