Pierce Avenue Street Closure Begins Saturday, May 22

On Saturday, May 22, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., Pierce Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic between Medical Center Drive and 23rd Avenue South.

Vehicle traffic will be detoured south to Children’s Way. The street closure is required for the installation of new building equipment by crane on the TVC Cancer Center project.

During the street closure, ambulances will still access the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt emergency entrance from 23rd Avenue and Pierce Avenue intersection by way of detour. The south sidewalk of Pierce Avenue and cross walk bridges will allow pedestrian traffic around the construction work, except for times of equipment removal and placement.

Vanderbilt Police officers, flag persons, flashing lights, barricades, and directional signs will help direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around the street closure.
