Message from the Vice Chancellor

Sunday's Tennessean featured an editorial written by Jeff Balser, M.D., Ph.D., vice chancellor for Health Affairs and dean, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, in response to a front-page article in the newspaper from earlier in the week titled, "Social mission study ranks Meharry 2nd, Vanderbilt last."

The George Washington University study released last week in the Annals of Internal Medicine was conducted from 1999-2001 and takes into account only those minority physicians going into primary care and working in underserved communities.
