The First Graduates of the Vanderbilt Program in Research Administrators Development (VPRAD) Receive Certificates of Completion

On Friday, July 16, the first official cohort and pilot participants in the Vanderbilt Program in Research Administrators Development (VPRAD) will receive their certificates in recognition of their completion of the program.

VPRAD officially launched in April. This certification program is designed to standardize training and guarantee a minimum necessary skill set for research professionals so as to optimize the experience of new employees and support their success.

By taking part in this program, professionals employed in research administration will have demonstrated self-improvement initiative and completion of the basic knowledge areas of the field. The ultimate goal of the program is to have a well-respected program that will serve to train research professionals, minimize turnover due to unfamiliarity with the system and its goal to provide the best basic and clinical research environment available anywhere.

It should also serve to strengthen effectiveness of communication between individuals across various departments engaged in research activities.

Event details: Friday, July 16, 2:30 p.m., 8380 Medical Center East. The event will be facilitated by the VUMC Office of Grants and Contracts Management.
