2010 Quality in Geriatric and Long-Term Care Medicine Conference Friday, Sept 24

The purpose of this conference is to 1) increase provider awareness of evidence-based prevention, screening, evaluation and intervention/management of older adults in the areas of cardiology, diabetes, infectious disease, menopause and pain detection/management in patients with dementia; 2) increase provider awareness and knowledge about elder abuse screening, detection and intervention; 3) improve systems-based practice the context of transitions in patient care; and 4) increase knowledge about changes currently occurring in the community long-term care system in Tennessee and ways in which innovative community-based programs can support older adults and help them to remain living in the community as an alternative to institutional long-term care.
