Vanderbilt Recognizes Guest Services Representatives During Customer Service Week
Customer Service Week is a national event devoted to recognizing the importance of customer service and to honoring the people who serve and support customers with the highest degree of care and professionalism. In 1992 the U.S. Congress proclaimed Customer Service Week a nationally recognized event, celebrated annually during the first full week in October.
This marks the first official year that Vanderbilt is recognizing this specific event. At VUMC, we call our customer service department Guest Services. Guest Services Representatives are located throughout the Medical Center (Children’s Hospital, One Hundred Oaks, The Vanderbilt Clinic, Vanderbilt University Hospital) and support the customer service effort 365 days a year. You will find Guest Services Representatives located at information desks, main entrances, surgery waiting areas, and critical care units. The goal of the Guest Services Representative is to determine guests' needs and seek resolution in order to provide outstanding guest services for Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Take the opportunity to thank the Guest Services Representative who works in your area this week. If you are unfamiliar with Guest Services, this is a great week to learn more about the wonderful things they are doing around the Medical Center.
