Vanderbilt Dental Offering Free Dental Screenings in December for Employees and their Families

The Vanderbilt Dental Center is extending its free dental screenings Dec. 10 and 17 from 8 a.m. to noon to employees and their families who are new and uninsured patients.

Each screening will include a brief visual exam to assess overall tooth and gum health, as well as to identify any concerns or dental needs. A free panoramic X-ray is included.

While 75 percent of adults in the United States have some form of gum disease, which could have been prevented by regular visits to the dentist, less than 65 percent have visited a dentist in the past year.

“Seeing a dentist regularly is a simple preventative measure that can have life-long benefits,” said Julie W. Rezk, D.M.D. “We now know that oral health is a key indicator for many other health concerns, so it just makes sense to start a regular dental regimen,” she said.

The Vanderbilt Dental Center is located in The Village at Vanderbilt, Suite 3300. To schedule a screening or for more information, call 322-2193 or e-mail contactdentistry@vanderbilt.edu.
