Limited Submission Funding Opportunity: Request for Internal Pre-proposals for NIH Shared Instrumentation Grant Programs (S10)

NCRR announced the S10 Shared Instrumentation Grant program in December.
This program encourages applications from groups of NIH-supported investigators to purchase or upgrade a single item of expensive, specialized, commercially available instrumentation or an integrated system. While this program does not typically limit the number of applications an institution may submit, applications must be for different types of equipment.
Investigators intending to apply to the S10 Shared Instrumentation program should submit an internal pre-proposal to the VUMC Office of Research. A review will be conducted by the VUMC Institutional Shared Resource Oversight Committee, which will resolve any conflicts between potentially overlapping proposals and make recommendations regarding School of Medicine matching funds.
Note: An internal pre-proposal is required for projects that will request VUSM support, and collaboration with a VUMC core facility or shared resource is strongly encouraged. Pre-proposals should include:
- Name and department of PI;
- Names/departments of at least three NIH-funded major users;
- Equipment details including type, model, manufacturer and estimated purchase cost; and
- Brief (one-page maximum) description including instrument management, operational support and user access plans, and a brief summary of the major user research projects.
Internal pre-proposals are due to the Office of Research no later than Wednesday, Jan.19. Submissions may be submitted online using this webform.
