Williamson Medical Center (WMC), one of Vanderbilt University Medical Center's affiliates, announced plans this week to expand its facility through construction to include upgraded surgical suites and an adjoining tower for pediatric services to be built adjacent to WMC's existing emergency department. The new pediatric tower will bear the name, the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Williamson Medical Center. Read more...

LifeFlight offers emergency command and communications bus to aid with event and disaster management


A mobile emergency command and communications bus is now available from Vanderbilt LifeFlight, free of charge, to any hospital or emergency agency to help with interagency coordination and communications. Vanderbilt LifeFlight secured the bus from the Vanderbilt University Police Department, and after extensive renovations is ready to make the bus available to the Middle Tennessee emergency community. Health Plus Walking Wednesdays continue through Nov. 7


Health Plus Group Fitness Coordinator Lori Cowan leads weekly 30-minute walks every Wednesday at noon through Nov. 7. The walks begin at the Medical Center North shuttle drop off and, if it's a rainy day, walks go through the tunnels. Read more...
