Proposed changes could impact liver transplant efforts


A new proposal under consideration by the United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS) that would change the way donated livers are distributed would negatively impact patients listed for liver transplantation at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) and across the Southeast, according to Seth Karp, M.D., H. Diagnostic Laboratories to switch to Remote Hosting Saturday, Sept. 24


On Saturday, Sept. 24, the Diagnostic Laboratories will implement Remote Hosting for the Cerner Millennium and CoPath laboratory information systems. Remote Hosting means that all servers used by the laboratory information system (LIS) will move from VUMC and will now reside on hardware located in Kansas City at Cerner's secure facilities.
