Neurology Movement Disorderes Fellowship>
GENERAL
This fellowship is designed to provide advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of movement disorders. It will also provide experience in basic research techniques useful in the study of the etiology, pathophysiology, and treatment of movement disorders. Candidates for this fellowship will be required to have completed an ACGME accredited neurology residency program. This fellowship is ideally suited for the candidate with research experience and a career interest in academic neurology.

The fellow will spend most of his/her time (50%) in the clinic, but should use the other time toward developing a research focus in movement disorders. Advanced training will include: 1) aspects of genetic testing, 2) therapeutic use of botulinum toxin in adults and children, and 3) deep brain stimulation for the treatment of movement disorders.

During fellowship research projects may be conducted in collaboration with faculty of the Vanderbilt Brain Institute and will be designed to provide the fellow with preliminary data necessary for future grant proposals.
