RESEARCH SUMMARY

Dr. Hutchison has recently collaborated with the Institute of Imaging Science and Department of Radiology to develop the technology of simultaneously acquiring fMRI and EEG data. This will allow sleep researchers to “see” what changes are occurring in the brain during different sleep stages. She won a Young Investigator’s Honorable Mention Award at the American Academy of Sleep Medicine’s Annual Meeting for her abstract entitled ““Cortical Activation Can Be Visualized During Sleep Using Simultaneous EEG-fMRI”.
