BIOGRAPHICAL
SKETCH Dr. McLean was instructor of Neurology, then assistant professor of Neurology at University of Michigan Medical Center from 1983 - 1985. He then joined the faculty at Vanderbilt University Medical Center as assistant professor for the Departments of Neurology, Psychiatry and Pharmacology. From 1989 - 1993, Dr. McLean was also assistant professor of Neurology for Veterans Affairs Medical Center. In 1993 he became associate professor of Neurology, and 1994, Dr. McLean became associate professor for the Department of Pharmacology. He continues to hold these positions, along with being director of Neuromagnetics Research for the Department of Neurology. RESEARCH SUMMARY Research in Dr. McLean's laboratory involves effects of antiepileptic drugs and magnetic fields on neurons in cell culture and animal models of epilepsy and pain.
