BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
Dr.
Riebau is Assistant Professor of Neurology and Associate Director
of the Neurology Residency Program and the Medical Neuroscience
Course in the School of Medicine at Vanderbilt University. His research
and clinical interests include the prevention and treatment of stroke.
Dr.
Riebau graduated with a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin –
Eau Claire in 1997 and earned his M.D. from the University of Wisconsin
Medical School at Madison in 2001. He completed his internship with
the department of Medicine at Evanston Northwestern University in
Evanston, IL. At Vanderbilt University, he completed his residency
with the department of Neurology in 2005 and served as the Chief
Resident of Neurology from 2004-2005. Subsequently, he completed
a Neurovascular fellowship in 2007 and is currently on faculty in
the Stroke division.
Dr.
Riebau is an outstanding teacher and his honors include Alpha Omega
Alpha and twice recipient of the Teacher of the Year award from
the neurology residents. He has also received the CANDLE award from
the School of Medicine at Vanderbilt University. This honor is given
to individuals who have devoted themselves to teaching and mentoring.
Recipients are nominated and chosen based upon their positive impact
on the lives of physicians-in-training, and are recognized by their
students as examples of excellence in medical education.
