BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
Dr. Sriram earned his B.S. and M.B. from
the University of Madras in Madras, India. He served an internship
in Medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich., then a
residency in Neurology at Stanford University, where he was Chief
Resident from 1978 – 1979. He was a post-doctoral fellow
in Neuroimmunology at Stanford, before becoming an acting assistant
professor of Neurology in 1981. Sriram remained at Stanford as
senior research associate in the Department of Neurology from 1982
to 1984.
In 1984 Sriram joined the faculty at the University of Vermont as assistant professor of Neurology and Cell Biology and became an associate professor in 1989. In 1993 he came to Vanderbilt University as the William Weaver Professor of Experimental Neurology, and continues to hold this position as well as a joint appointment as professor of Microbiology/Immunology.
Currently Sriram is an ad hoc reviewer for multiple journals, as well as associate editor for the Journal of Immunology. He serves on the member board of the National MS Society and is Chairperson for the National MS Society Fellowship Committee.
