ICU Care Could Affect Brain Function

Every day in the United States, as many as 40,000 intensive care patients suffer from delirium, an acute brain dysfunction. Doctors say it is a massive public health problem that most people aren’t even aware of.

Physicians at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, think the problem could be related to the care they get in intensive care units and they say their new study could change the course of millions of lives.
