Vanderbilt LifeFlight Offers 'Intensive Care Unit' in the Air
April 15, 2010It is a fast ‘intensive care unit’ in the air – getting critical help to patients as quickly as possible. While nationally this has been the deadliest year for medical helicopters, the only hospital-provided air ambulance program in Middle Tennessee celebrates 25 years of successful operation.

LifeFlight is negotiating with the U.S. Department of Defense to develop and activate full trauma center resources to the patient in the air. Their new speed is the first step. Barb Cramer has the story in this Vanderbilt Video News Release.
